Dr. Azizzadeh’s Humanitarian Causes
Despite running a busy and renowned Beverly Hills surgical practice, Dr. Azizzadeh always makes sure he finds the time to help the less fortunate in our world. He has traveled extensively through Southern and Central America over the years, helping children in need with craniofacial deformities. Dr. Azizzadeh is passionate about treating children with cleft lips and facial paralysis, and has directly helped countless children by conducting facial reconstruction procedures.
In 2009, Dr. Azizzadeh founded the Facial Paralysis and Bell´s Palsy Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing funding for nerve regeneration research and pro-bono surgery for children afflicted with facial movement disorders. The foundation provides a network of information, education, and support to persons of all ages who are suffering from Bell´s Palsy and permanent facial paralysis. The bell’s palsy research foundation is, furthermore, dedicated to supporting ongoing research within the medical community to find and advance new and improved treatments for facial paralysis.
Dr. Azizzadeh, a founder of facial paralysis foundation, is currently an active member of the Global Smile Foundation. He has, through his volunteer work with the Global Smile Foundation, helped alleviate the suffering of underserved patients in third world countries who are born with facial congenital deformities, with special emphasis on cleft lips and palates. The Global Smile Foundation was formed in 2008, and the organization believes that all communities deserve the right to receive first rate care by highly qualified healthcare professional, regardless of socioeconomic, racial, or religious backgrounds. It is, needless to say, a mission Dr. Azizzadeh strongly supports aside from his facial paralysis foundation.
Dr. Azizzadeh also uses his expertise and skills in volunteering for Medical Missions for Children. Their mission is to transfer medical knowledge from those who have it, to those who need it, using the latest in the communications technology. The organization just like bell’s palsy research foundation, does this in an effort to empower the underserved medical community, and to raise their level of expertise. This, in turn, allows them to share this newfound knowledge with colleagues, and treat their patients more effectively.
Dr. Azizzadeh, founder of facial paralysis foundation, was also a part of the ROSE Fund and Operation of Hope. The ROSE Fund, which stands for Regaining One’s Self Esteem, is a non-profit organization chartered to break the silence and the cycle of domestic violence and teen dating violence and abuse. Operation of Hope, meanwhile, provides life-changing surgical care, healthcare, and medical training programs in under-served areas of the world through international collaboration among medical and non-medical volunteers, empowered by corporate and individual sponsors.
